UCF Knights defeat USF Bulls in the suspenseful "War on I-4"
TAMPA — On Saturday at Raymond James Stadium, No. 25 UCF defeated USF
46-39 thanks to a miraculous one-handed touchdown catch.
The Bulls' incredible comeback was undone by Mikey Keene's 14-yard touchdown pass to Alec Holler, who also completed a wild conclusion.
The Knights (9-3, 6-2 AAC) performed like a team outside of USF's league when the most recent scheduled "War on I-4" started.
Three out of the Bulls' first five possessions saw turnovers
(a fumble into the end zone, an interception on a deflected pass and a fumbled lateral on a trick play).
John Rhys Plumlee, the quarterback, took just 19 minutes to surpass 100 yards on the ground, and UCF scored on five of its first six possessions (twice on Plumlee rushes).
